PRiME 7th Annual Symposium: A Global Community Accelerating Innovation

On February 20, 2026, PRiME welcomed nearly 200 trainees, faculty, industry experts, and researchers from across the globe to the PRiME 7th Annual Symposium, held at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. This year's event focused on transformative technologies reshaping drug screening, diagnostics, and therapeutic development.
Lisa Dolovich, Professor and Dean of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered opening remarks alongside PRiME leadership members Molly Shoichet and Akshita Vincent. They emphasized PRiME's mission of "connecting global hubs and scientists to deliver precision medicine" while establishing platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The symposium featured keynote presentations from Berend Snijder of ETH Zürich's Botnar Institute, Shana Kelley from Biohub and Northwestern University, and Alberto Nobili representing Bayer Co.Lab, each offering insights on advancing precision medicine technologies.
PRiME announced the 2026 fellowship recipients in partnership with The Hospital for Sick Children and University Health Network. An industry panel, "Spotlight on innovation: Steering next-generation platforms from concept to clinic," featured representatives from Fable Therapeutics, Amgen, and Danaher, moderated by Leah Cowen, Vice-President of Research and Innovation at U of T.
The event concluded with remarks celebrating the collaborative ecosystem spanning academia, industry, health systems, and government working to address complex health challenges.
