PRiME January Research Rounds

PRiME Research Rounds is a monthly research presentation series featuring talks from PRiME Principal Investigators and Fellows. Light refreshments are provided.

Alan Moses, PhD — PRiME PI and Professor in the Departments of Cell & Systems Biology and Computer Science at the University of Toronto — presents "Computational design of intrinsically disordered proteins," drawing on his work in regulatory DNA sequences, protein analysis, and population genomics.

Maryam Ali, a fifth-year PhD candidate and 2025 PRiME Fellow at the University of Toronto Mississauga, presents "Frankenproteins: New Therapeutics Against Old Cancer." Working in Prof. Jumi Shin's lab, her research applies protein engineering and directed evolution to breast and ovarian cancer.
