PRiME Connaught Global Speaker Series

The PRiME Connaught Global Speaker Series brings internationally renowned researchers to the University of Toronto to discuss frontiers in precision medicine. The September 2025 edition features a keynote lecture followed by a panel discussion on AI and machine learning in precision aging and cognitive health.

Keynote speaker Shahar Arzy, MD, PhD — Professor of Medical Neurosciences and holder of the Spiegel Chair in Neurophysiology at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem — presents "The past and future of Alzheimer's Disease: from a deterministic disease to a heterogeneous disorder," framing AD as a heterogeneous, multifactorial disorder and proposing computational approaches to analyze individual patients across cognitive, behavioural, pathological, and genetic domains.

A panel, "Role of AI/ML in precision aging and cognitive health," follows with Michael Brudno (Professor of Computer Science, U of T; Chief Data Scientist, UHN) and Bradley Buchsbaum, moderated by Allison Sekuler (Sandra A. Rotman Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience, Baycrest).
